Ringing the Bell

ringing-the-bell.Yesterday John “IT” Hill recorded the sound of the Sobraon bell to be played back at the launch of a 560 page illustrated book about the vessel. Written by Geoff Stephenson “Commanders of Sail – the story of James and Alexander Elmslie and ships Cospatrick and Sobraon” is to be launched in Melbourne next month.

The clipper „Sobraon“ at sea. 2131 Tons. Built at Aberdeen. 1866. Later a boy's training ship.
