Point Perpendicular Lighthouse

Point Perp Alight ic During the current Navy Celebrations in Jervis Bay the original Grand Old Lighthouse sitting atop the majestic northern cliffs of Point Perpendicular has been put back into service.

If you go down to the bay at night you will see it’s bright light blazing across the dark sky.
It’s a fantastic thing to experience, and even better if you go out to the light itself.

The lighthouse has just undergone extensive refurbishment financed by the Department of Defence, it’s never looked better and a perfect time to visit this beautiful piece of local maritime history.

Ships Ships and more Ships

The bay is starting to fill up with War Ships, I haven’t had a chance to have a look myself yet, but from a few reports there’s quite a few at anchor off Creswell already. Ill be off early in the morning to have a peek and shoot a coupe of pictures.

The ladies manning the Lady Denman Information Center have been getting plenty of inquiries for accommodation and boat tour details, it will be a good couple of days for the local economy.

The preparations for the Family, Food and Fun Day is going full steam ahead, so lets hope we can encourage some of the visitors to the area to come along and be apart of the celebrations.

Unfortunately we had one of our beautiful Fun Day advertising banners  stolen from a property on the highway, they had to climb two fences to cut it down….some people have no respect and very small brains…

But on a happier note, we have a nice big banner on the approach to Huskisson telling everyone about the day..

Interesting angles

John Hill the Denman’s techno whizzz, has an amazing piece of machinery that allows him to get to a vantage point above the Lady Denman only our feathered friends usually get to see.
Here are a couple of frame grabs from an early morning flight today.
With a few more practice flights and a wider angled lens John say’s we will have better shots in the future.
At the moment John has to guess the camera angles before the flight, but the technology is available to wear a head set and see what the camera is seeing..
We look forward to seeing more shots in the future.
