HOME OF THE LADY DENMAN - Local history isn't always about the big story - the everyday story of life in the early development of the region can be a fascinating, entertaining and educational journey.

Christmas Jervis Bay 1931

The making of Jervis Bay.

Im not so sure!
After going to Huskisson yesterday for the first time since Christamas day and seeing the crowds massed in the main street and on every beach, overflowing car parks, rubbish, noise and confusion, and becoming stuck in a traffic jam in the main street as people tried to find a parking spot,  I couldn’t help but wonder is tourism and  so called ‘progress” been good for Jervis Bay.

There are numerous articles to be found in old newspapers by correspondents encouraging the growth of tourism and development and what great benifits it would have for this region.  After many hours of research for this blog,  I personally would like to be able to transport myself back 100 years and start again.
